The test is straightforward once you have fully prepared. You will pass if you can satisfy the examiner that you can drive safely and competently under various road and traffic conditions and do the set exercises, plus answering 2 questions based on the vehicle basic maintenance and operational checks before a long journey. 

For example 'SHOW ME' how you would check if the headlight and tail lights are working?

'TELL ME' how you would check that the brake lights are working on this car? Your instructor will prepare you for all questions that may be asked of you.

The examiner will be understanding and sympathetic, and will make every effort to put you at ease. However, to avoid distracting you the examiner will say as little as possible while your driving.

He or she will give you directions clearly and in good time. The test duration is about 40 minutes in which time you should not accumulate more than 15 driving faults in order to pass and  NO serious/dangerous faults (your instructor willl explain these faults to you).

Passing the driving test shows that you have reached the minimum level of competence required. However it takes a lot of practice and experience to become a really skilled driver. Further tuition is recommended such as "PASS PLUS" course, we wish you well on your taining/course and hope that you will be successful in your practical test at the first attempt. If you always drive as you have been taught you will enjoy many years of safe driving.
